A little history of Flemington
The first meeting at Flemington was held in 1840. The inaugural Melbourne Cup followed in 1861, and the Victoria Racing Club has managed racing at the course since the club formed in 1864.
What to look for in the form
Flemington includes a long home straight and a straight-course programme for shorter races, so course, distance and race-shape form deserve separate consideration.
