A little history of Saratoga Race Course

Racing began at Saratoga during the American Civil War era. The Travers Stakes was first run in 1864 and remains the oldest major stakes race for three-year-olds in the United States.

What to look for in the form

The short summer meet attracts strong fields. Compare class, surface and distance carefully, and do not treat the “Graveyard of Champions” nickname as a substitute for form.

Fat Tony says: Track knowledge helps, but it never replaces current form. Compare today’s distance, surface, draw and likely pace before making a call.
